HR News

We have very good news regarding our health insurance.  We have been working diligently with our health insurance provider to lower our copays on our medical insurance.  As of May 1st, the copays on our POS health plan will be $20 for primary care visits and $40 for specialists.  For those who are enrolled in this plan, you will be receiving new insurance cards in the mail towards the end of April.  Once you receive your new card, please dispose of your old card. As a reminder, you can always access your health insurance cards on www.mycigna.com or use the My Cigna app.

We are also beginning our work on 2023 benefit renewals in an effort to improve our already strong benefit package.  If you any concerns or considerations you would like us to know about, please contact Beverly Webb at bwebb@sandyspringsga.gov.

Public Employee Appreciation Week is May 1-7 and we have some exciting events planned for that week.  As a teaser, on Friday, May 6 there will be food trucks on City Green.  BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket) and let the City of Sandy Springs treat you to lunch.  There will be fun activities on the City Green for those who would like to partake! For those of you unable to join us on the Green, we will bring food to you. We are always grateful for the amazing group of people we have serving the residents and visitors of Sandy Springs! It is the key factor in why Sandy Springs is a wonderful place to live and work.

FY 2023 Budget Calendar

It’s that time of the year – budget season is upon us! City departments have submitted their budget requests to Finance and the City Manager’s Office. The CMO and Finance Department are reviewing projected revenues, capital project and staffing requests to determine the best balance for departments and the city as a whole.  The overall process takes about four months, and we are looking to have the budget approved in June for implementation July 1st.
