Sandy Springs, Ga. (July, 16 2020):  Following new directives by both Governor Kemp to restrict large gatherings and the City of Sandy Springs decision to cancel its summer concerts and entertainment events due to the upward surge in Coronavirus cases, Leadership Sandy Springs will postpone its outdoor Movies by Moonlight series planned for August.

According LSS Executive Director Jan Paul, “we’re disappointed not to be able to bring Movies to Moonlight to City Springs next month, but out of concern for everyone’s health and safety, this is the right choice.”

“We have not completely given up on the idea of hosting Movies by Moonlight,” she added, “but are looking at how and when we might be able to do it. We know what a popular family event this is. Right now, we want to encourage everyone to follow the social distancing guidelines, wash hands and wear a mask. It’s so important.”

Leadership Sandy Springs first began offering Movies by Moonlight (MBM) to the community 16 years ago. The fun summertime event is a series of three, free, family-friendly feature movies shown outdoors on a big screen on Friday nights, usually mid-August through early September. Two years ago, MBM moved to City Green when the new City Springs complex opened.
