Dr. Kathleen Toomey, Commissioner and State Health Officer, has appointed the Sandy Springs Fire Department's Section Chief of EMS, Patrick Flaherty, as a member of the inaugural Georgia Coordinating Center (GCC) Advisory Committee.
The Georgia Coordination Center Advisory Council acts as an oversight group for the Georgia Coordination Center. The GCC’s purpose is to streamline the EMS transport process to the 13 counties of Region III by utilizing a single point of contact to inform EMS transporting agencies of hospital diversions and overcrowding. This will help shorten hospital wait times and EMS wall times. In addition to attending quarterly meetings, Patrick will help develop policies and procedures for the GCC’s operations.
The board is comprised of 24 members divided among hospital administration, medical directors, and EMS SME’s. He is the representative for the North Fulton Area.
We are extremely proud of Patrick as he continues to provide excellence in service!
