The new sandyspringsga.gov website will go live on Monday, July 12. In the meantime you can preview the new site.

Your browser may temporarily cache the old version of the site, so if your coworker is seeing the new site, and you are seeing the old one, try pressing the CTRL key and the F5 key simultaneously. This forces your browser to remove the cache for the site you are on and refresh the page.

We’ve identified two areas where this change might impact users:

1. Search Engines

Once the site goes live, search engines will have to reindex it to understand the site and correctly return results. For example, let’s say a user searches “construction permit sandy springs” in Google. It will likely forward them to the old style URL. At this point they will get a page missing notice on our site. We will be sending reindexing requests to major search engines immediately after launch to keep this time period as short as possible.

2. Bookmarks

Anyone with bookmarks saved on their devices will have to update their bookmarks. If you try to use your existing bookmarks, you will get the same page missing notice on our site.

Reporting Issues

If you see any issues with the new website, report them here: spr.gs/website2021

Updating Content

Use the form at spr.gs/website2021 to request access to the Sandy Springs Unified Platform. It’s easy to use! If you need support, reach out to Marla Shavin or Jason Green.

Unified Platform Training

We are planning to schedule an upcoming Lunch and Learn where we will review content development for the new site. Ideally, it would be helpful to have at least two people from each department participate in the training. Keep an eye on Inside Sandy Springs for more information. We will be publishing some Unified Platform content creator guides on Inside Sandy Springs in the next few days.
