As our nation and the world continue to adapt to the realities of COVID-19, the City of Sandy Springs adapts as well. Scientific data show a rapid increase in cases due to the highly transmissible Delta variant, now the dominant strain for infections in the U.S. The City’s top priority is the health and safety of our citizens and staff.

We estimate that 1/3 of our city staff is vaccinated – a good start, but far from where we need to be to stop the spread of the virus among coworkers and our customers. We strongly encourage all city employees to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Appointments can be made at COVID Vaccine (fultoncountyga.gov). Vaccines are shown to be safe and effective and are critical to our efforts to stop the spread in City Hall and other City facilities.

In addition to the vaccine recommendation, City management has issued the following guidance:

1. Masks are preferred in all public spaces and common areas.

2. Social distancing remains a critical and effective tool in our efforts to stop the spread. Please be mindful of your coworkers’ personal space and allow for adequate social distancing (6 feet) as much as possible.

3. If you are sick, do not come to the office. We also ask that you get a COVID-19 test before returning to City Hall.

Importantly, this is the beginning of more formalized guidance coming from the City Manager’s office. That guidance will be coming soon.
