Public Service Recognition Week!

May 2 – May 6

This week is all about you and how much we appreciate all you do!

Monday, 5/2

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Massage chairs in Barfield at City Hall. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050C4AADAB2AA2FB6-chair2.

6pm: Complimentary Fitness Bootcamp on the City Green for those who would like to attend.

Tuesday, 5/3

7 a.m.: Complimentary Yoga class on the City Green.

12 – 4 p.m.: Eat Right Atlanta (fresh fruits and vegetables market) for purchase in the City Hall lobby North Side.

 Wednesday, 5/4

Gift Card Drawing: acknowledge a fellow colleague for their hard work! In 100 words or less, nominate someone for a job well done. Submissions will be entered into a gift card drawing. Email your nomination to HR@sandyspringsga.gov. One entry per person, due by April 29. Nominees will be entered into a random drawing, with the winner receiving a $50 Quick Trip gift card. Those submitting nominations will be entered into a random drawing to win a Sandy Springs water bottle. 

11 – 2 p.m.: During your lunch break, there will be wellness vendors on the City Green. Please stop by for a Jamba juice smoothie and sign up for the Fitness Challenge. Northside Hospital will be offering free blood pressure checks.

6 p.m.:  Complimentary Fitness Bootcamp on the City Green for those who would like to attend.

Thursday, 5/5

7 a.m.: Complimentary Yoga class on the City Green.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: During your lunch break, play a game of corn hole and other lawn games out on the City Green. Bring your own lunch.

Friday, 5/6

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: During your lunch break, enjoy food from one of four food trucks and an Italian ice truck. Wear jeans if you’d like!

We would like to thank Battalion Chief, Phil Adams, for his service and dedication to the Sandy Springs Fire Department for the past 26 years. We wish you the best during your retirement! These photos are a throwback of Chief Adams circa 1998-2000 while assigned at Fulton County Station 6  and currently SSFD station 51).

Wellness Corner:

Registration is open for the City of Sandy Springs Blood Drive on Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Barfield Training Rom (2nd Floor next to HR). All presenting donors will receive a $10 e-gift card for the merchant of choice, courtesy of Suburban Propane.

We would like to congratulate Jane Jarrett (Recreation and Parks) for passing her exam and becoming a Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sport Specialist (CARSS) through the BlazeSports Institute for Adaptive Sports and Recreation. Way to go, Jane!

We would also like to Congratulate Section Chief, Imani White (SSFD), for her wedding celebration on April 16, in New Orleans. Many happy wishes to the newlyweds!
