North Springs MARTA Corridor Study
Project Overview
The North Springs MARTA Corridor Study is a strategic project to make the station a more walkable destination by improving multimodal safety and comfort on Peachtree Dunwoody Road; identifying a preferred route to extend the PATH 400 trail north to the station area; enhancing walking and biking access to the station; finding opportunities for placemaking at the station; and creating a concept for transit-oriented development on the North Springs MARTA Station property.

A public open house was held on February 28, 2024 at Palisades Office Park.
A survey is now open until March 13, 2024, to collect feedback. The survey can be found here

Abernathy Arts Center Improvements
The existing stone arts building at the Abernathy Arts Center needs significant repairs and updates. Due to the unsafe and unstable condition of the building, the City of Sandy Springs is going to construct a temporary facility. Scheduled to open in 2024, this new facility will add art programming spaces to the existing site.
Lake Forrest Dr / Allen Rd Intersection
Status: Design phase approved by City Council on December 5, 2023.
Background: Due to traffic and safety concerns the City of Sandy Springs is proposing a mini-roundabout at the intersection of Allen Road and Lake Forrest Drive. The intersection improvements include operational and safety enhancements to alleviate the existing bottleneck condition on Lake Forrest Drive. Sidewalks and pedestrian access improvements are also planned as part of this concept.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will add turn lanes from Pitts Rd. to Spalding Drive, as well as upgrading the traffic signal at the intersection. This project aims to increase traffic efficiency at this intersection.
